Property management that never touches your rent.
HomeRelay coordinates tenant maintenance for self-managing landlords and never holds your rent or takes a cut of it. If you use HomeRelay to collect rent, it moves straight to your own account through Stripe. We handle the repair calls and the vendor scheduling for a flat $69/mo.
Is there a way to manage rentals without a company handling my rent?
Yes. HomeRelay runs the maintenance side of your rentals without ever holding, escrowing, or skimming your rent. It is maintenance-coordination software, not a rent middleman. Tenants report repairs, AI sorts out what is wrong and how urgent it is, and your own vendors get scheduled, while your rent keeps reaching your bank account the same way it does now.
Where does my rent money go with HomeRelay?
Your rent goes directly to you. When a tenant pays through HomeRelay, the charge runs on your own Stripe connected account, so you are the merchant of record and the money never passes through HomeRelay's balance. HomeRelay adds no fee, takes no cut, and passes no fee to the tenant. Stripe's standard processing fee goes landlord-direct, the same as if you set up Stripe yourself.
Why does it matter if maintenance software also handles my rent?
When one tool holds both your maintenance workflow and your rent, leaving it means untangling your money from it. HomeRelay keeps those separate on purpose. Your rent relationship stays yours, your vendor relationships stay yours, and the only thing you pay HomeRelay is a flat monthly subscription. If you ever cancel, nothing about how your tenants pay you has to change.
Can HomeRelay still help my tenants pay rent?
Yes, but it is optional and the money still goes straight to you. Tenants can pay a one-time rent charge or set up phone-verified auto-pay from the same portal they use to report repairs, all through your Stripe account. HomeRelay never becomes the holder of those funds. You can also ignore rent collection entirely and use HomeRelay only for maintenance.
What does HomeRelay actually do if it is not collecting rent for itself?
HomeRelay coordinates every maintenance request from report to resolution. A tenant scans a QR code and describes the problem with no app and no login. AI reads it, flags urgency and safety, and estimates a rough cost. Then HomeRelay contacts your own vendors, works out a time that fits the tenant and the vendor, and keeps you in the loop the whole way. You approve what you want to approve and let the rest run on its own.
How much does rent-safe maintenance coordination cost?
HomeRelay is a flat $69/mo for 1 to 4 units, or $99/mo for 5 and up, for your whole account, up to 10 properties. There is no per-unit fee, no per-address fee, and no cut of your rent. The first 100 landlords get the Founder's Club rate: $49/mo for 1 to 4 units or $69/mo for 5 and up, locked for 24 months. You can start a free trial with a card on file that is not charged until the trial converts.
